New to using a bitcoin wallet and using blockchain. I imported money into the account, and then it said I needed to put it in a different wallet to be able to transfer and send funds, so I did this and now the money seems to have disappeared? Is there anyone that can help me with blockchain?

Hey guys, is using remote node still better than using a bitcoin wallet?

I'm running parrot os (figured it is secure and is pretty user friendly as well), but I got trouble downloading the block chain. So I decided to use a remote node. I know it can't be as safe, cause it's third party, but is it at least safer than regular bitcoin wallets? I am a noob for clarity.

Started using a bitcoin wallet & the whole process seems expensive/inefficient (vs just using Coinbase)

Hi there-so I'm very new to Bitcoin. Previously I had been using Coinbase to purchase and send bitcoins to a website. Now I would like to start buying stuff on a different website, but new website doesn't allow Coinbase or any Bitcoin exchange account due to increased processing times. They say to use a wallet instead, either Copay, Electrum, Greenadress, or Trezor. So I downloaded Greenadress. But the process seems so complicated and expensive! First I need to purchase Bitcoins from Coinbase, which comes with a processing fee. Then I need to send my purchased Bitcoins to Greenadress, where they tack on another processing fee. Then I need to send the Bitcoins to the website I actually want to buy something off of, which includes yet another processing fee. Not to mention Coinbase can take forever to send money to an outside address, so the whole thing seems so impractical and expensive. Is this just the way it works with Bitcoin wallets or is there an easiecheaper way to do this? TIA!!

Just Started with using a bitcoin wallet, had a few questions.

edit: Unchecking 'Connect through SOCKS5 proxy' solved the problem. It is syncing again.
I am using the Bitcoin core wallet, and I am having trouble synchronizing. It has been stopped 11.90% for several hours. Here is the message I have: https://i.imgur.com/YmaWb4E.jpg Now first, Is this thing downloading the whole block chain onto my computer? If so, is there a way to control where it downloads too? Second, is there an easier wallet I should be using? I already have some money in this one so my last question would be is there a way to transfer the wallet to another client, or do I just have to wait for this to finish syncing? I know I probably don't sound like I know what I'm doing so please bear with me.

Is it safe to use a bitcoin wallet over Tor?

Is it safe to use a bitcoin wallet over Tor? My concern is that you never know who controls the Tor exit node and to access your bitcoins, you use your private key which is broadcasted to the blockchain to prove you own your bitcoins and allows you to send your bitcoins.'

Could the Tor exit node get my private key and steal my bitcoins?

Opinion: If you shop on your phone, while using a Bitcoin wallet on your phone, the experience is cumbersome and annoying because of BitPay, Coinbase, GoCoin. (not sure if this is specific to ioS 10 and iphones)

There are 3 different Bitcoin payment processors that I've used on my phone, and all the processes are different and only one of them works without manually inputting amounts into your wallet.
There's BitPay, Coinbase, and GoCoin.
With BitPay, this is probably the easiest experience on ios10 as it actually works. The invoice comes up, and then on your phone you have to tap and hold down the open wallet button to prompt your wallet. Then your wallet will open with the payment information filled in and for you to confirm it. I'm glad this works but it still would be confusing for most, as most would just 'tap" the open wallet button instead of holding it down - which creates confusion. There is no direction for the user to hold down on the open wallet button.
GoCoin and Coinbase payment invoices don't work on ios10 anymore. You can't prompt your wallet to be opened, instead you have to copy and paste the payment address, then manually type in the exact payment amount. It's annoying and isn't going to help Bitcoin adoption among merchants/consumers.
Just wanted to share my mobile shopping experiences. I feel like these payment processors are focusing too much on people shopping from their desktop computers, and ignoring the user experience when shopping from their phone.
