Private key... backed up on paper and the Computer disconnected from Internet and without power. Are There any risks? No other sites were visit and nothing else but electrum downloaded. Safe enough as a permanent storage. The advantage is that it is very convenient to send the bitcoin whenever I need. Sorry for my bad english.

What is the perspective for bitcoin storage when it goes mainstream?

Today we early adopters are always worried about how to safely store our bitcoins. Since we are the people with higher tolerance for difficulty, we usually take our bitcoins from the exchanges and store them for example in hardware wallets or maybe use more complicated means to keep them. When bitcoin goes mainstream, however, people with lower tolerance will have the need to store them, otherwise they will have to carry all their money around in the phones.
What is the perspective to how easy these procedures can be in the future? How far are we from having bitcoin storage easy to the point where one "doesn't" need to think about it?

Bakkt cryptocurrency platform opens Bitcoin storage service for customers

Bakkt cryptocurrency platform opens Bitcoin storage service for customers

According to a message published yesterday, from September 6, the Bakkt platform will offer its customers safe storage of bitcoins.
The service will open in preparation for the launch of Bitcoin futures trading, scheduled for September 23. Information on this appeared on the official Bakkt Twitter.
The start of the main trading of daily and monthly deliverable bitcoin futures is scheduled to begin on September 23.
Earlier in August, Bakkt CEO Kelly Loeffler announced that the US Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) had issued all the necessary licenses as the company went through a self-certification process. Accordingly, nothing can prevent the full launch of the platform, except for unforeseen technical difficulties.
Among other things, institutional investors will be able to store their bitcoins directly on the site itself, since the Bakkt Trust Company LLC received a trust license from the New York Department of Financial Services (NYDFS).
Many analysts suggest that the launch of Bakkt will positively affect the cryptocurrency industry, because the platform offers the opportunity to trade deliverable futures for the first cryptocurrency. Unlike the Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME) futures, settlement is made in bitcoins, not dollars. In other words, this is a direct opportunity to legally buy bitcoin for institutional investors.

Throwaway to talk about Bitcoin storage.

Hi. I have Bitcoin on a paper wallet. As Bitcoin recently climbed in value, I realized that keeping a paper wallet under my bed worth over $40k was really careless, borderline stupid. So I started reading about various storage options and settled on a Trezor hardware wallet. Once I received it, I couldn't bring myself to put my bitcoin on it!! I hated the idea that I was at the mercy of the device's firmware and hardware vulnerabilities, that I didn't have access to the private key, and that the 'fail-safe' 12 or 24 word recovery phrase is... really just another private key, that I'm supposed to keep.... where? Under my bed? This is not a solution!!
So, I started looking at safes on Amazon, all the the ones under $1000 were safes that could be easily taken out of my house by simply picking it up and carrying it out my house. The full-size safes are very expensive, and would most certainly be a pain-in-the-ass when it comes time to move.
So, I started thinking about the best way to store something of value... and conceded to the obvious, albeit ironic solution; a freakin' safety deposit box at my local bank.
What's the chance of my bank burning down? What's the chance of my bank's secure rooms being hit by a group of bank robbers that clean out the boxes before they jump in the getaway car? What's the chance of a corrupt employee gaining access to my box and taking a picture of my paper wallet?
Now compare that risk to my paper wallet burning up at my house, the paper being damaged by water from a flood, or any of the hundreds of people that I've talked to about Bitcoin, and therefore implied ownership, figuring out where I live, and saying "Screw it, let's break a window at his house and see if we get lucky.".
Somebody save me from my lack of vision and anxiety of storage... what am I missing?
